"Sleep is the golden chain that ties health and our bodies together."

-Thomas Dekker

“The amount of sleep required by the average person is…. five minutes more.”

-Wilson Mizner

Imagine waking up refreshed, ready to take on the day. Unfortunately, this isn’t always the case. We often want more than those five minutes more when that alarm clock sounds.  At Danican, we know the importance of a good night’s sleep. With our products, we not only ensure the proper comfort and support your body needs, our products give you peace of mind, knowing that you’re also protecting yourself from the hidden dangers that may be lurking in your bedroom environment.

Let us give you some background.  As stated above, there are the obvious, and the more hidden factors that influence your quality of sleep.

sleep

1. noun a condition of body and mind such as that which typically recurs for several hours every night, in which the nervous system is relatively inactive, the eyes closed, the postural muscles relaxed, and consciousness practically suspended.

                                                                                                                                                    -  Oxford Dictionaries

The definition of sleep… sounds delightful.  How can we promote this most effectively? We spend approximately one third of our lifetime sleeping (or trying to), but experts say that it is actually not the duration of hours one is lying in bed “sleeping”, but rather how many quality sleep cycles one has.  It is not until we find ourselves in the recuperative stages of the sleep cycle that we truly get the healing benefits of a good sleep, which facilitate our bodies’ enzyme and protein regeneration, helping to insure a healthy immune system. The importance of this deeper sleep or REM stage cannot be emphasized enough. Studies show that a deficit in this area impacts memory, and even emotions. It is logical to conclude that as a minimum, having the proper bedding will undoubtedly help minimize sleep interruptions due to improper body support, overheating and even respiratory issues and congestion caused by allergens in the sleep environment.
